Q: Where do I buy tickets?
A: Most of our events are free to attend while a limited number of events will be ticketed. You can purchase tickets in advance on PiccoloSpoleto.com. Should tickets remain, you may purchase at the event venue 30 minutes prior to curtain, CREDIT CARDS ONLY. Browse are website for listings, piccolospoleto.com. Ticket information for Spoleto Festival USA is updated continuously at spoletousa.org. For additional assistance with box office, both in-person and by phone, the Cultural Affairs office is open Monday-Friday (with exception of Memorial Day) from noon-5:00pm to assist 843-724-7305; or Saturday and Sunday City Gallery from noon-5:00pm to assist at 843-958-6484.
Q: What types of events can I expect?
A: We will be hosting a variety of exhibitions and events. Due to the potential for weather, please consult our event pages on social media in case of last minute changes or weather-related rescheduling. Programs are anticipated to have durations of approximately one hour, so any elaborate picnic plans and overloaded coolers are likely best left at home.
Q: How long will each performance last?
A: All programs and performances are planned so that the audience can have a full experience within one hour. No events are intended to last more than 90 minutes in total.
Q: Where do I park?
A: For events in the central business district, parking garages are the most convenient option. An online directory is available here. For pop-up events and programs in residential neighborhoods, on-street parking will be available at both metered locations and on blocks marked by residential parking district, with restrictions clearly posted on signs. Given the relatively brief duration of most 2021 Piccolo Spoleto programs, it should be possible to attend within the posted limits for on-street parking. Specific recommendations for parking will be posted on each program’s Facebook event page.
Q: Will there be restrooms?
A: Most of the parks selected for Piccolo Spoleto programs have restroom facilities that will be available to the public. In other instances, accessible port-a-lets and hand sanitizing stations will be on site. Recognizing the limitations of these amenities, we encourage everyone to think ahead and plan accordingly.
Q: Will all events be accessible for all?
A: Patrons with accessibility concerns should call or email the Office of Cultural Affairs at 843-724-7305 or culturalaffairs@charleston-sc.gov. The office is open Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00 pm.
Q: Are dogs allowed? Do I need to wear a mask? Can we bring beer and wine? Is it cool if I litter? Will it rain?
A: All City of Charleston ordinances and guidelines will apply to Piccolo Spoleto events. Parks protocols are clearly posted on signs and online. We cannot answer every question in an FAQ, and we politely ask that you exercise both personal responsibility and good judgement. Be respectful of your fellow audience members and our participating artists. Be patient as we work in new formats and under different constraints. Most importantly, enjoy yourselves and applaud with reckless abandon – we have missed being together to celebrate the arts and this is our moment to shine!
